Business as usual

Dear Curlers, Members, and Community,

We would like to inform you that even though our facility is undergoing a staff transition period, there is still staff in place to continue with business as usual. The General Manager Doug Bradley, and Assistant Manager Kim Dennis are moving on to new endeavours. We are in the process of hiring a new Club Manager for the 2018-2019 season.

We would like to welcome back Kelly Shimizu to her Office Manager role, looking after the proshop, rentals, and leagues. In addition we would like to introduce Theresa MacDonald as the new Bar Manager, and league support. Our Chef Moe Sana and Head Ice Technician Lawrence Layton are also on staff for the upcoming season.

We would like to communicate that any bookings of rentals and events that have been made by senior staff are still scheduled and confirmed, any information about the booking has been made available to the staff taking over. If you have any questions or concerns about a rental booking please contact Kelly Shimizu kelly@richmondcurling.com.

We are doing our best to make this transition period and season start-up as smooth as possible. There are a number of questions coming into the office at this time, so we do ask for your patience in receiving answers to any questions you may have.

We will continue to offer our leagues, ice rentals, event rentals, and catering services to our members and to the community.

Sincerely Yours,

Richmond Curling Centre Staff

Board Communication August 28th, 2018

Dear Members and Curlers.

The Richmond Curling Club Board of Directors wishes to inform all Club Members and Club Curlers that both the General Manager and the Office Manager have recently resigned.

The office will be staffed by Kelly Shimizu (kelly@richmondcurling.com)  and Theresa MacDonald (theresa@richmondcurling.com) and, in the interim, until a new General Manager is hired and the transition completed the overall management will be undertaken by a Board Management Team. Lawrence Layton will continue to manage and maintain the ice and building as before and Moe Sana will continue with the food and catering services.

The facility has passed all the Technical Safety BC plant requirements and the Board of Directors is undertaking a search for a new General Manager that will encompass the technical and administrative knowledge and experience required to manage the facility,  programs and services going forward.

League play will start as expected with no changes impacting on play.
