The Richmond Curling Centre Club Manager Roles & Expectations

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Club Manager’s primary responsibilities are to manage the daily operations of the Club including membership services, administration and staffing, advertising and communications, fundraising, facility rentals, leagues and bonspiels.

Responsibilities are for the full year, however, a flexible and variable schedule is often required depending on the time of year.

Start Date: Immediately

Key Qualifications:

  • Business or non-profit management experience with leadership skills in customer and/or member-focused organizations
  • Experience with establishing and maintaining effective operating procedures and processes including: strategic planning, building operations, programs, administrative, financial management, and membership growth.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with innovative ideas and the ability to motivate others
  • Ability to recruit, supervise, schedule and evaluate staff and volunteers
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Good understanding of the sport of curling
  • Experience managing volunteer resources
  • Ability to work with and take direction from a Board of Directors
  • Certified Refrigerator Operator (RO) or Class 4 Power Engineer (or an interest in working towards such certifications) would be an asset
  • Experience with ice-making and building management would also be an asset.

This is currently a salaried position (contract may be considered depending on the applicant).
